NC State has a chance to land one of the top basketball recruits in the country today as Brewster Academy (NH) small forward T.J. Warren will announce his college decision later this afternoon.
Warren informed Scout.com last week that he had eliminated Florida and North Carolina, narrowing his list to NC State and Georgetown. He has taken official visits to both programs, and he holds scholarship offers from both schools and several other high-major schools.
A commitment from Warren would bolster an already strong recruiting class for NC State that features talented guards Rodney Purvis and Tyler Lewis. A five-star recruit, Warren is rated the No. 22 prospect in the 2012 class and the nation's No. 5 small forward prospect.
However, Georgetown has recruited Warren for a long time, and he enjoyed his recent official visit to the Big East school.
A legacy recruit for NC State, Warren's father, Tony Warren, played small forward at NC State from 1976-1979. He averaged 9.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1979 NBA Draft.
According to a report in the News & Observer, Warren will announce his decision at 4:00. However, he is not having a press conference at his high school.
Will T.J. Warren be suiting up for his dad's alma mater, or will he take his talents to the Big East conference? Stay tuned!
