Tom O'Brien announced today that redshirt junior cornerback Gary Grant is no longer on the football team.

Tom O'Brien announced today that redshirt junior cornerback Gary Grant is no longer on the football team.

Grant, a 6-foot, 192-pounder from Miami, Florida, was listed as the backup field cornerback. However, he had yet to receive any game action outside of on special teams this season.

In his career he played in 21 games, totaling 13 tackles.

O'Brien indicated that Grant did not live up to the expectations of a NC State football player.

"Gary Grant is no longer part of the program," said O'Brien. "He didn't live up to the expectations or standards that are set for an NC State football player."
