RALEIGH, N.C. -- Tom O'Brien confirmed today that Cameron Fordham has officially transferred from LSU to NC State.

Fordham attended classes today and participated in practice with the Wolfpack.

A native of Duluth (GA), Fordham was a blocking tight end for Northview High School during his prep career.

Fordham, who now checks in at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, is being recruited to play center or guard. He was granted his release from LSU last week. He redshirted last year, but must sit out this season as a transfer and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

He signed with LSU in 2010, picking the Tiger s over Florida State, Syracuse, UCF, and UCONN among others. Fordham was rated a three-star prospect and the No. 7 center in his class.
