RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Tom O'Brien met the media following Tuesday's scrimmage, which was the third of fall camp.

Tom O'Brien Audio

“The 53-yarder was, in the game we were playing, as time expired. Actually to run on the field and kick it as time expired. We were really happy with that situation and how it played out.”

“When you are playing end of the game and you are always in a two-minute situation you get in some situations where you have to throw the ball regardless. I think most of [the interceptions] were long throws at the end of time - 4th down or whatever.”

“It's all three, four minute situations – its all end of the game. Six different situations. We do it this way all the time, its one of the best things I ever got when I started at BC. So many learning things happen in this on all sides of the football. It's a great drill for the quarterbacks, its good for the coaches – its good for everybody.”

“[The offense] made some plays tonight that it hasn't the first two scrimmages so that's positive.”

“There are some things that [Glennon] works on every day. He's not a finished product by any stretch of the imagination. The best thing that can happen to him is to finally get in to a game so he can play – that's what he needs.”

“He has good days sometimes and he has bad days sometimes.”

“I think the offense caught up a little bit in some of these situations. It's a positive for this team and hopefully a confidence builder for the offense. And it knocks the defense down a peg or two.”

“I don't pay attention to any of the stats I give you any week, any time, any scrimmage. It's how its played – are they doing the things they are supposed to be doing when they are supposed to be doing them. I like to throw the stats out and you guys can cry wolf or whatever you want to do but they make no difference to anybody until we start playing a game.”

“I'm not asking [Glennon] to get into [leadership] even though its a function of being a quarterback. The thing he has to do is run the offense and if he runs the offense efficiently that will be leadership for us right now.”

“[Proctor] didn't do what he was supposed to do as far as being a champion in the classroom and the community so he doesn't have a chance to play on the football field. Permanently – he will transfer I think he's going to a junior college somewhere.”
