At the first team meeting of 2011 football camp, the team decided which players would represent it as captains for the upcoming season. The players elected tight end George Bryan and defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy.
“These two young men are great choices,” said head coach Tom O’Brien. “They have shown great leadership throughout spring practice and in our summer workouts and their hard work and dedication have earned them the respect of their teammates.”
Bryan, a two-time All-ACC performer, ranks ninth in school history with 13 touchdown receptions. He is the only Wolfpack tight end ever to earn all-conference honors twice and he is on the preseason All-ACC team for 2011.
Sweezy, an honorable mention All-ACC performer in 2010, tallied 13 tackles behind the line of scrimmage as a junior and led the team with six sacks. For his career, he has played in 26 contests.
