NC State offered Newark (DE) standout wide receiver Xavier Griffin a scholarship early last week, and after visiting the school on Friday Griffin committed to the Wolfpack.

"Yes sir, I've committed to NC State," said Griffin. "I really liked the facilities, and I love the offense. They run spread and throw the ball all over the place. I think it's a great fit for me.

"Coach Reed was really happy when I committed. He's been wanting me to commit for a long time. Coach O'Brien was happy to hear that I was ready to go there too."

As a junior, Griffin caught 30 passes for 645 yards and eight touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder has been timed at 4.5 (laser) in the 40-yard dash.

"The NC State coaches think I can be a big play receiver," he stated. "They like my size and athleticism. They think I can go up and make plays in the air for them."

Pack Pride will have more on Griffin's decision in the near future so stay tuned!
