According to a NC State official, sophomore linebacker Hans Rice is no longer a member of the NC State football team.

According to a NC State official, sophomore linebacker Hans Rice is no longer a member of the NC State football team. Rice isn't listed on the updated 2011 NC State roster, and the official indicated that the updated roster is correct.

A native of Eufaula, Alabama, Rice is expected to transfer to a program closer to home. He enrolled at NC State in 2009 and redshirted as a true freshman. Rice played sparingly on special teams in 2010.

He was rated the nation's 25th-best weak side linebacker by Scout.com after his time at Eufaula High School under Coach Dan Klages.
