Hough Plans to Visit State

Wadesboro (NC) Anson County wide receiver Jonathan Hough plans to visit NC State. Pack Pride has the latest on his interest in the Wolfpack.

Wadesboro (NC) Anson wide receiver Jonathan Hough has set up his official visit to NC State.

While the 6-1, 190-pound senior is still waiting on an offer from the Pack the coaches are interested and wanted to give him the opportunity to come check the school out.

Hough's official visit will come just before National Signing Day, and that could be a sign that they are waiting to see what happens with some other prospects before they decide whether to put an offer out there.

"They were actually at my school on Friday," Hough said, speaking of NC State. "Coach Bridge was here. We sat down and we talked a little bit. We're talking about my (official) visit up there on (January) 28 and how much they're interested. They're just looking forward to getting me up there for a visit.

"They've been talking to me for two months, maybe. I think they're thinking about offering, but they haven't yet."

Hough is a true sleeper prospect. Outside of NC State the only schools he has been hearing from are Elon and Pembroke.

He doesn't have game breaking speed and that's one of the reasons he hasn't received as much attention as some other prospects in the state. He is, however, a solid possession receiver that makes few mistakes and makes for a good target.

"I run pretty good routes and I block pretty well," Hough said.

Anson was just 3-9 on the season but Hough did all he could as one of the team's top skill position players. Linebacker Stephone Anthony, Hough's teammate, is one of the region's top uncommitted prospects and a major target for the Pack.

Brandon Ellerbe, also a senior at Anson, is also high on the Pack's wish list, though he remains a soft commitment for North Carolina.
